B-Type ultrasonoscope was applied to clinical diagnosis firstly in the early 1960s. In the last forty years or so, the B-Type ultrasonoscope has been developing rapidly. With the development of the digital signal processing and the computer technology, the most advanced ultrasonic diagnostic equipment in the world contains the digital signal processing part in almost each component of the system. The research of the fully digital ultrasonic diagnostic equipment has become a trend. The fully digital ultrasonic system which bases on FPGA and Embedded Operating System is marked by features of high technology and portability. It can realize the real-time processing of the huge ultrasonic data with the digital hardware circuit. This thesis starts with the ultrasonic diagnosis principle. Several key technologies are introduced briefly at first. Two core algorithms of the digital signal processing in the system are analyzed in detail. On the basic of these algorithms and FPGA chip, the program of the digital FIR filter and CORDIC algorithm are realized by adopting the Verilog HDL.The SPI interface which can be used in the module of image display is also introduced and be programmed by Verilog HDL. Its program is compiled and download to FPGA hardware developing platform. The high communication between SPI and the OMPG3530 of ARM A8 is implemented.Due to the adopted of the digital signal processing of the system in a single FPGA chip and the combination with high performance ARM A8 processor, the strategy of digital signal processing haves characteristics of high speed, high precision, fully digitalized, high integration and portability. This lays a good foundation for building modern medical ultrasonic diagnostic equipments.
