Arm aerial work platform is the high area working platform. The function of the platform is carrying worker and equipment to the hope height to work. It is not only adapt for ship, architecture, fire protection and port etc, but also adapt for city electric power, forestry and ornament etc. According to the modern design concept and method of vitural prototype,this paper discusses the method of physical prototype modeling and vitural prototype simulation and analysis of the operating mechanism refering to the GTBZ21 arm aerial work platform. Base on the theory of mechanics and Dynamic, use APDL language of the finite element analysis software ANSYS to establish simple work platform model. It does static analysis of the telescopic arm in three extreme conditions. The result indicates that the maximum tensile stress over the section of the first arm link ampiltude actuator, the crushing stress nether the section of the first arm link ampiltude actuator. Bulking analysis shows that, when a load 7KN is applied to the platform, the section of the first arm around the amplitude actuator will appear bulking, the structual will not be stable.By modal analysis research, this paper obtains five natural frequency as well as modal shapes. Form the result, the natural frequency and the GTBZ21 working frequency is six to one which indicates that the system will not generate resonance.Based on theory analysis, the strength and model of Arm test was done in extreme conditions, the rusults of the test is similar to the rusults of finite element analysis. The conclusion confirm the accuracy of finite element model.Based on the result of finite element analysis, aiming at decreasing the weight of telescopic arm, with the restriction of strength and rigidity of the telescopic arm, the optimization of the three arms was carried out. The achievement in this paper can provide valuable evidence for structures optimization of the arms.
