The finger vein recognition is a new biological feature recognition, which is developed only several years. We can carry on the body's identification through the finger vein. Compared with fingerprint recognition, vein recognition has many advantages, such as safety, non-contact. Based on the latest extensive discourses and technology journals in this field, the dissertation is trying to make studies on finger vein recognition.First, we preprocess the collected image to make it ready for the future feature extraction. Its purpose is to remove noise of vein image and improving definition of vein image, which will be beneficial to following feature extraction. Preprocessing is the first step of the vein recognition process, which includes image enhancement, segmentation, denoising, thinning and other parts.Second, finger vein feature extraction and matching. Its purpose is to judge whether the two veins are captured from one person based on their minutiae. We implement three recognition methods, that is, based on templated matching, based on the end-points and cross-points and based on calculating distance. Experiments have proved that the matching method based on calculating distance achieved good results on the speed and recognition rate.Finally, I proposed some ideas of the vein recognition about myself.
