Aiming at the high temperature in the south of China which affects the dairy production, a workable control system of cooling equipments in dairy farm is studied in this paper.The system introduces THI (temperature-humidity index), the humidity and irradiance as its chief control parameters, and sets several auxiliary parameters in accordance with the life style and the breed of dairy cattle and the geographical environment, to assure the better control of the rearing environment of dairy cattle, and reduce the heat stress of dairy cattle efficiently.In order to ensure the reliability and the stability of the output control system, this paper expounds the hardware components scheme of the single-chip microcomputer control unit based on the core of STC89RD54,and the design of the power driving unit. It also presents the idea and methods of implementation of the anti - disturbance software for the single-clip microcomputer.The system can support LED display, remote controller and keyboard operation. A good human-computer interaction not only meets the requirements of real-time control, but also makes the control easily operated.This paper mainly presents the hardware and software design of the control system, and briefly introduces the driving unit.The practice has proved that : the system in the dairy farm can work in a long-term stable and reliable operation ,and gained some benefits from the system: the THI in the experimental group conspicuously lower than the comparison group (P< 0.05) as well as the rectal temperature (P<0.01); the milk production of the experimental group increases significantly comparing with the comparison group (P <0.01); in respect of the hidden mastitis morbidity, it shows 42.9% lower in the experimental group than the comparison group, and strongly positive was not detected. Reviewing the above, it can be easily concluded that the system can cool down the body temperature of dairy cattle, lighten the heat stress of dairy cattle, and increase the output of milk.
