In the recent years, the usage of embedded image acquisiton terminal has become more increasingly widespread, thus image resolution, quality and delivery approach requires continuous improvement. As image compression techniques and signal processing technology's continues develop, high-definition image after compress has less data volume and require less bandwidth to enable data transmission through wireless network, which greatly expanded the application of image monitoring such as tracking objects for dynamic monitoring, portable monitoring, and so on.The paper analyzed the current image compression coding and wireless network technology status and development, carried out a comparative analysis of the system. Then the paper introduced JPEG2000 compression technology and some other relative basic knowledge, focusing on the JPEG2000 image compression coding and analysis of the coding process in detail, and realize the JPEG2000 image compression coding with the use of ADSP-BF533, and with the combine of Wi-Fi wireless network, the paper completed the design and implementation of the embedded image acquisiton terminal at last.The paper utilize ADI company's Blackfin 533 DSP processor as the core of the system, comleted the design of expansion of the system hardware circuit, and detailed image capture modules, wireless modules and memory modules, and so on; then base on the hardware design is the transplantation of BootLoader andμClinux Embedded operating system, the completion of the OV9650 image sensor, ISP761 and Nand Flash driver; Finally, base on Jasper standard library, JPEG2000 image compression algorithm has been realized on BF533, and other related wireless transmission system software design has been completed. The whole system has some traits of simple configuration, low power consumption, small volume, and strong expansibility, etc.Based on the completion of the design of hardware and software systems, the paper carried out a test method. System boot process, image data compression and transmission process has been tested. And the paper especially analysed the quality of JPEG2000 image compression algorithm. And these tests verificatified the system, and the test results proved that the system has achieved the design objectives.
