The tool-setting accuracy and rate is one of the reason which influence the product quality and production efficiency during the wood processing.Thus the suited method of tool pre-set can raise the labour capacity and increase economic benefit.Based on this point,the article demonstrate whether the computer image process technique can be applied in the tool pri-set of woodworking milling machine to improve the quality and cut down the cost.The article mainly discuss the Computer Image-aided Tool Pre-set System in theory and practice separately.The theoretical analysis mostly concentrate on the composition and constitution of system and their function or action in the system.The practical test,based on theorretical analysis,directly apply the system to actual tool pre-set course of woodworking milling machine,and measure the accuracy and rate to prove the feasibility of the system in practice.The result indicate that the accuracy of Computer Image-aided Tool Pre-set System can arrive at±0.057mm when the magnifying rate is 4,which the error range measure up to the National Standard. And relativing to the other method which need 15 minutes at least this method is more fast that it merely spends 7 minutes at most to complete the whole course from tool installation to pre-set,which sometimes it only needs 1 or 2 minutes.Accordingly the article draw the conclusion that the system can be available in the actual tool pre-setting process of woodworking milling machine on condition that the image is magnifed by 4 times to 10 times,and it's advantage can be developed further during the shaping course of multi-position tools especially.
