With the high development of computer technology, visual simulation technology has been widely applied in many fields. It is an important representation as well as a significant part of virtual reality, which can be treated as a kind of human- computer interaction. Virtual hand interaction technology is a significant element of human-computer interaction, and it can make user feel immersion while interaction. The main job of this paper is for the researches of the key technology and realization methods of virtual hand interaction as followings:(1) This paper constructs a model of virtual hand interaction, and designs the multi-channel interface, then proposes the closed-loop control flowchart of virtual hand interaction process, and establishes a virtual hand interaction system in visual simulation according to its operating principle.(2) This paper focuses on the technology of motion mapping from human hand to virtual hand. On the basis of analyzing the anatomical structure and motion features of human hand, the geometric and kinetic model is built through the hierarchy structure method; By applying the interaction equipments include data glove and motion tracking, the data of human hand' gesture and position is measured and calculated; Studies the theory of motion mapping combining with computer graphics, and implements the method of motion mapping from human hand to virtual hand.(3) Two key technologies of virtual hand operating in visual simulation are studied: One is collision detection between virtual hand and virtual object, especially the theory and realization of collision detection technology based on BUMP of Vega; The other is the improved grasping gestures, proposing an approach for the virtual hand to grasp virtual object.(4) A interaction platform of virtual hand is developed under VC++6.0, Vega API function and Lynx graphical interface, using interaction equipments as main input devices, realizing real-time visual simulation of virtual hand interaction include gesture and operation process; Then the technology is applied to DI-Guy human simulation, which not only improves gesture action of virtual human, but also implements the real-time human-computer interaction between human hand and virtual environment through the virtual hand.
