In recent years, a considerable study has been given to a tomographic technique referred to as the OCT. Advances in photonics technology have enabled a significant improvement in the visualization capability of OCT in the last decade, thereby establishing OCT as a state-of-the art, noninvasive, ophthalmic diagnostic imaging modality. As a consequence, there have been numerous developments of OCT technology and considerable interest in this topic.This project is mainly focused on the communication of an OCT imaging system and computer, as well as its application. The figure measurement in the whole experiment, which can test and prove the validation of the control system, will occupy a roll as well. This project is divided into 2 parts. The first one is the theory of data acquisition system, and the communication between it and computer. The second part is the principle and application of OCT imaging and recovery.The emergence and development of OCT is in the last 30 years, which can be considered as a new technology. OCT is based on the low-coherence interference phenomena, which ensures safety and cheapness. Therefore, it attracts numerous attentions. The technology is presented from 2 perspectives: physical principles and system structure. There's also some introduction to new findings up to now. The project is designed according to the main concept of OCT system, as well as the equipment settings, predictions for the result and some possible difficulties.Data acquisition system is the part of the equipment settings that connect the OCT system and computer. Data acquisition is completed by the cooperation of the OCT system and computer. The fundamental theory and basic functions of data acquisition system, along with the method of establishing a communication between the NI USB-6221 board and computer has been introduced in this paper. Necessary codes and figures are provided as prove of the correct signal transportation of the DAQ communication. Besides of those basic functions of the software, it also explores some advanced functions with illustrated usage.After establishing a communication between the DAQ card and computer, how to improve the OCT system by samples and masks, and how to produce and gather data by the improved system becomes the next focus. Serials of figures that present the waveforms of the signals detected during the experiment are presented, as well as the basic principle and application of the image recovering algorithm, according to which the recovered image are generated, After comparing and analyzing, advises are also given and mistakes pointed out for the experiment.At the end, it is the conclusion of this paper, not just sums what OCT system is, how it influences the biomedical field, but also predicts how it will be in the future.
