Distributed workflow management system is a new research area of workflow domain and has gain much more reorganizations compare to others, some interrelated research and system architectures also been grown up. The most difference between distributed workflow management system and traditional workflow system is, most workflow systems have only one workflow engine to implement all the workflow process, but the distributed workflow system is composed by many workflow engines that distributed in various network nodes, and they implement all the workflow process together.Today many industries in our country have use some distributed workflow systems for a period of time and then get some experience on how to implement them, there also has some successful cases. But we also find out that, for secret reasons, some of our country's network environments are composed by several disconnected sub networks, and these sub networks can only use air gap to exchange information between each others. All the network protocol can't traverse through the air gap. For these reason, all the distributed workflow systems can't be implemented in this kind of network environment. So, how to implement a distributed workflow system that based on air gap has been a imperative problem.To implement a process that span in several sub networks, the distributed workflow system that based on air gap have to solve the problem that how to exchange information cross air gap, this thesis implement a workflow engine cooperation model based on the heterogeneous workflow communication frame work of WFMC. And then we develop our own process decompose and collaboration model based on workflow process collaborative model. At last, we put forward the implementation and frame work on how to monitor and manage time constraint and exception on this area.The thesis based on the practice demand on the workflow area, and put forward a new conception that distributed workflow system based on air gap. And also design and implement the main framework of this area. The practice results have prove that this frame work can solve the problem that produced by the collaboration between workflow engines from disconnected sub networks, and also can remarkably improve the work efficiency of customers or reduce the mistakes that produced by people when they have to interactive with different systems frequently.
