With more and more extensive PWM (Pulse Width Modulation)technology applications, it's flexibility and stability requirements are also getting higher and higher. Traditional PWM control technology is almost based on hardware or integrated circuit chip. However,now the complex PWM control system adopt the model of IPC(Industrial PC) and specific PWM chip to achieve . In this paper researched the latter model that based on the IPC and SA866 chips to achieve the PWM control system. This solution of PWM not only has low cost, but also has flexibility to control different objects. Needless to say, it has good prospects.The serial interface mode of SA866 is using the built-in SA866 MICROWIRE-based communication protocol modules to implement the communication from PC to the SA866. The correct operating parameters of SA866 should be calculated based on the actual control system. then through the serial interface and communications protocol to be written into the SA866. Finally, these data through SA866 chip process to output PWM signals.The software of the control system running on IPC adopt open source software and specific software to achieve。In LINUX system, to solve real-time requirements of the programme is rather good use of RTAI mechanism. RTAI provided a large number of real-time solution mechanism for real-time system; To the Simulation Data Acquisition, COMEDI(Control and Measurement Device Interface) provided a good operating interface to hide the details of the card operation to implement the seamless connection from data acquisition to upper system; Meanwhile, this system adopted modefied-PID (Proportion,Integral,Differential) Controllor to obtained effective tuning arguments that make the system to fit for safety application.
