With the information technology development and the competition from international steel market, the modern steel enterprise is pushing forward industry automation foundation. As an important unit of continuous casting process control computer system, crane computer system of the slab yard provides basic data for the whole incorporate system.Firstly this text generalizes the present condition of the iron and steel enterprise automation system, and brings forward four levels configurable application mode of automation system, analyzing the actuality and the trend of developing of process control computer system, putting forward the research actuality of trouble in computer system.Under the background of crane system of slab yard the text discusses the computer technology application status in practice, including the use of UML design structure, event driving mechanism and the communication platform of TCP Driver and code coding designing.The text elaborates the design of software and hardware and implementing elements in the slab yard management system, introducing the application of crane wireless communication system in the slab yard, discussing the system function implement and the data communication interface. Later this text spreads the analysis of the reasons from three aspects including hardware, software and man-made factor, finding that main reason is the use of single thread dealing with multi-port communication, the failure of reconnecting socket automatically and database deadlock etc. Aiming at these reasons a series of countermeasure is established, including using multi-thread to dealing with multi-port communication, optimizing human machine interface and adding parameter of reconnecting socket automatically etc. The system trouble situation is changed radically and the frequency of system trouble is reduced to zero after the countermeasure is brought into effect concretely. The reconstruction of crane system succeeds.
