Ad hoc network is known as wireless self-organized network,which is a self-configuring multi-hops network of wireless links connecting mobile nodes with wireless transmit-receive device.By the reasons of the characters of nodes mobility, energy restricted,acting as a router,and centerless,the routing protocols and route information in Ad hoc network are facing with more complicated and more seriously security challenges than line-guided network and traditional wireless network.Moreover, the method for ensuring the routing security can increase the system overheads of the energy restricted Ad hoc network,it makes the security method lack of practicability. Therefore,to design and propose a secure routing protocol or an improved method,which not only can enhance routing security of Ad hoc network but also suitable for the Ad hoc network,is an important research subject in the Ad hoc network technology fields.Firstly,the paper introduces the basic concepts and characters of the Ad hoc network, the security challenges and security goals of secure routing protocols,and the traditional mechanisms of enhancing routing security.This paper also analyzes the working mechanisms of the present secure routing protocols and their relative merits.Secondly,aiming at security and overheads of network routing protocols,the paper proposes a few improved methods.Firstly,to the deficient of current secure routing protocols at guaranteeing routing availability aspect,the paper proposes a standby routing mechanism,to guarantee the routing availability of Ad hoc network through route redundancy and efficient route discovery mechanism.Secondly,to the situation of using numerous encryptions and hash algorithms at the process of enhancing routing security, the paper reduces the system computing overhead at the same time of ensuring routing security through integrating the algorithms which have same function.Thirdly,to the situation of the key management of Ad hoc network which needs to implement individually and occupying the additional system resources,the paper reduces the overall system overheads through implementing the key management in the process of routing discovery process.Thirdly,the paper integrates the improved methods and proposes an improved scheme for secure routing,this scheme can reduce the security overheads of computation, and communication etc.at the same time,the routing security of Ad hoc network has been guaranteed.The paper makes a detailed introduction about the scheme.Finally,the paper makes a performance experiment of the improved method for secure routing,compares and analyzes the experiment results,and makes an analysis about the security performance of the scheme.The paper is aiming at the problems of routing security of Ad hoc network,one is how to enhance the routing security,and another is how to reduce the overall system overheads after the security of routing protocol has been enhanced.The paper makes a lot of beneficial attempts in these two aspects,and proposes a method which can reduce overall overheads at the precondition of enhancing routing security.
