Optical Coherence Tomography(OCT) is a new tomography technique.With its non-destructiveness, real-time and high-resolution,OCT has a wide variety of applications and developments in biomedical and material sciences.In order to make OCT system be easier for application,researches were carried out in operation controlling and image processing in the thesis.Based on LabVIEW,the computer software for the operation controlling of reference and signal arm scan,data acquisition and image reconstruction and displaying in pseudo color were designed and written,simple and friendly user panel on screen and automation were realized.The information extraction of OCT image depends on the preprocessing works.In order to remove the noises and speckles effectively,and at the same time preserve the edge characteristics better,an improved OCT image processing method based on Catt(?) anisotropic diffusion algorithm,with which the diffusion factors should be adjusted appropriately by changing the threshold k during the iterative progression,is proposed.The improved algorithm was applied to the OCT prime images obtained from pearl and retinal nerve fiber layer(RNFL) respectively,the processing results show that the noises removing and edge characteristics preserving were significantly achieved with the comparison from the visual effects and quantitative analysis.Based on the fact that the pixel gradient changes rapidly in the regions of disease focus or defects,one more algorithm with the edge detection and mathematics morphology operation was introduced in the post-processing of OCT images.The algorithm can distinguish the disease focus or defect areas on OCT images and ensquare them for better identification.
