With the rapid development of the NC technology, it demands higher performance for the NC system which tends to be an open architecture with these characters: openness, high reliability, excellent performance, serialized, intelligentized, networking. The modules of the system have no relation to the running platform as well as interoperability, unitarity of the Human Machine Interface and the communication interface. But nowadays, communication mechanisms used in the NC system are not unified and differ from each other, which influences the openness and extendability. So it's very meaningful to explore a handshake interface used in the open system for the research and development of the NC system. Due to the above research background , this paper promotes the NC system to a network platform and develops an two-axis motion control system based on the Ethernet.The paper designs two-axis motion control system is composed by the master control module and the motion control module, uses the distribution network control mode, realized the system module information exchange through the Ethernet. The master control module hardware selects the industry control computer, the software uses LabWindows/CVI , has completed NC code procedure processing, the state of motion monitor, the man-machine interaction contact surface etc non-real-time or the weak timely duty. And the motion control module designs to have the numerical control G code interpreter function embedded motion controller, may realize two sits the axis objects 's movement control. this module selects inlays the Ethernet controller ARM7 control chip LPC2378, and design the frequency pulse output circuit, the encoder feedback circuit and Ethernet connection circuit. And software aspect has mainly complete the motion control function correlation algorithm, like G code interpreter programming, the interpolation algorithm programming, position closed-loop control programming design etc.In addition, in paper, emphatically introduced the system module Ethernet communication realization process, including transmission data load process and overtime reproduction processing treating etc. Finally, I has carried on test to the system performance, analysis and forecast to the test result.
