Nowadays,simulating nature sceneries is one of challenging studies in Computer Graphics all the time.The sea surface,as one of nature sceneries,covers the earth for seventy percent.Ocean is a vast water container,and a natural traffic platform.However,ocean wave is complicated natural scenery,as it is irregular for time or space.So simulating ocean wave is one of difficult topics for Computer Graphics.At the same time,simulating ocean wave is important not only for Computer Graphics,simulating realistic,military simulating,entertainments,ocean surveying,but also for waterpower study,fluid mechanics,wave mechanics, oceanography and so on.Creating wave model is very important for simulating ocean wave.The model is not only to compute less,to be printed faster,but also to consume less memory. Actuality,as the simulating technology is developed,people expect more.Based on those,the thesis mainly simulates irregular ocean wave.Using the Gerstner-Rankine wave model,the thesis creates ocean waving image based on the height-map with several child waves added.From reality observation manner,build three observation channels net-grid model with LOD technology to reduce the number of net nodes and improve the fps.But because of different net-grid unit and different node height,net-grid cleft is created between different net-grid units.So the thesis uses repairing techonogy to deal with the problem.Simulating surging wave is also one of simulating ocean wave difficulties. Traditional breaking wave model is very complicated in order to pursuit in model accuracy,or is too simple to describe realistic breaking wave in order to pursuit in render speed,or pay too much attention to surging wave but ignore the irregular of background ocean surface.So based on Gerstner-Rankine wave model and height-map technology,the thesis re-computes data for some Specific net-grid nodes in order to transit between different modes.Then,use Bezier curve to render the specific net-grid nodes,because of Bezier's characteristic of only using several controlling nodes,breaking wave image can be rendered real-time.At the same time, use particle system to Simulate foam for surging wave in order to be more reality;In the end,the simulating images of ocean wave and breaking wave are satisfactory.But breaking wave is a complex step which contains before breaking wave,in breaking wave and after breaking wave.So completing the steps is the main task of the next study.
