With the quickly develop of globe economic, especially China be a member of the WTO, there will be more chance and challenge for the coal industry. So the coal industry must improve itself. The computer and network technology is the base if coal industry companies want to improve their management.With the development of information technology, more and more electronic equipment will be integrated in every company. How to integrate these electronic equipments and how to make them work effective is the hardest problem for these companies. The article provides a efficient solution program to resolve the problem. Using image recognition in coal industry will contribute to the process of the company's information technology and automation.The dissertation mainly deals with the data collection, report form and the illegibility of the weight plat's edge arises from bad weather, insufficient light and awful road condition, and tries to make the algorithms more adapter to environment. The edge recognition mainly includes 4 parts: image pre-processing, car location, the edge of car wheel recognition, wheel location. In the image pre-processing, original image are enhanced, and then a denoising method based on difference analysis is proposed to denoising and take good effect to get ready for further work. In car wheel location, using a method based on the algorithms of Canny to take the edge of the wheel, then project the image to locate the coordinate of the wheel in the original image, that method work effectively.At the same time, for intelligentizing, miniaturizing and improving performance-to-price of the system, the system use the image recognition to take the place of the infrared equipment, design a intelligent weight and watch system based on the image recognition, we describe the circuits of hardware detail. The hardware system is used to detect the proposed algorithms(from image preprocessing to car wheel location). The experiment results show that the performance of the system is satisfied.
