Three-dimensional display technology is a multi-disciplinary integrated technology. The source information not only included the two-dimensional information but also need to detect the depth of the pixel information, and the display them in the form of three-dimensional. And currently the vast majority of the display device can only display two-dimensional information, Through the use of the principle of perspective makes the observer some feeling of a slight three-dimensional. Scientists have tried to use a variety of methods in order to show the scenes and objects with a depth of feeling. Three-dimensional display technology has undergone more than a decade of development and has broad application prospects technology in commercial advertising, medicine and education, industry product design, construction and other fields as well as in the military field. In-depth study and development of three-dimensional display technology will brought changes people's life and production. And the freedom three-dimensional display would be more likely to completely replace the existing flat panel display system.This paper, mainly concentrated in the following areas: exploration of the optical principles, development of the Experimental prototype, obtain of the three-dimensional image sequence and synthesis algorithms and of the effect.Achievements and innovation:1. Study of a variety of three-dimensional display method. And put forward the idea of the free three-dimensional display system based on cylindrical grating and digital DMD projection technology.2 study of the algorithms of sequence corresponding of the three-dimensional image acquisition and synthesis. Study the relationship between display pixels and raster lines. And put forward an algorithm of Synthetic image sequence based on the Tilted grating.3 After the completion of the prototype system. A method of evaluation is given by measuring the brightness distribution in front of display screen. And the results of measurements are given in detail.Finally the paper pointed out the inadequacy of research and the author's recommendations of the study in the future.
