In the second half part of 20th century, various subjects benefited from numerical methods. It's the same to physical oceanography as a basis of the research on ocean science. Marine numerical simulation began after the first computer came out, and environmental oceanography emerged as the gradual formation of ocean circulation, tide numerical model and environmental science. The development of environmental oceanography benefits from the achievements of numerical simulation and numerical forecasting, and numerical model has become an important tool of ocean research.Meanwhile, some advanced method of scientific visualization came out with the development of computer soft and hardware. Computational geometry is an important and basic part of computer graphics, and affects the presentation effects. As a branch of computer science, computational geometry researches on algorithm to solve the geometric problems. In the modern engineering and mathematics field,computational geometry plays an important role in graphics, robotics, VLSI design and statistics.In domestic, the result of the ocean numerical simulation is published in the form of document and two-dimensional curve. As an information presentation method of marine forecasting, the expression of numerical prediction is not intuitive and not conductive to people.In this paper, a method of generating triangular irregular mesh is proposed to present the two-dimensional topography of ocean and land and realize the marine visualization using such computer graphics technology as OpenGL. To ensure the accuracy of the presentation of the ocean numerical simulation model's results, this study abandons the regular mesh which is not good in topological relations, and uses some interpolation methods to change the mesh of the ocean numerical model to the triangular irregular mesh which is more suitable to the topography so that the results of the ocean numerical model simulation are better presented. And we get a method to performance ocean terrain and to present the impact of ocean tide to coastline, and the realization of the relevant simulation is finally given. It is proved that this method has high reliability and applicability by the simulation of triangulation and numerical forecasting on Chinese ocean field and border. This kind of method has a certain value to ocean engineering project and meets to our expectations.
