The subject studies the large-scale real-time rendering seabed topography techniques. This technology is currently hot topic widely concerned and researched, it involves the application of simulation such as a battlefield environment, undersea environment of surveying, marine resources development, and many other areas. Terrain extraction algorithms and large-scale simulation is the key to real-time rendering terrain technology, this paper focused on its detailed study. The main tasks are:Firstly, through access to documents, understand the background and Technology Research Status of the three-dimensional topographical map. Research and develop a three-dimensional topographical map of the seabed and shows that the plan of display. Introduces 3-D terrain of the nature and classification, introduced the Grid Construction terrain typical algorithms, such as ROAM algorithm, VDPM algorithm, Adaptive Quad tree subdivision law, the partition algorithm, triangulation Growth Act, the terrain contour data Construction methods. Through comparison and analysis, find out suitable undersea terrain elevation data in 3D simulation algorithm.Then, according to the terrain Construction Algorithm, establish Delaunay Triangulation. And analysis the display result of the Delaunay Triangulation. At the same time, deal with the discrete points on the formation of discrete terrain elevation datum, treatment of discrete points. Preliminary realize the display of three-dimensional of the seabed topography grid.Finally, introduce the mapping of the entire seabed topography of the display system design and implementation process. Introduce the OpenGL key technologies. Consist of three parts: the submarine elevation data import and processing, generating an initial three-dimensional topography of the seabed. Process the original 3D terrain through OpenGL 3D, including color, texture and lighting, and so on. The completion of the submarine three-dimensional topographical map zoom, and multiple roaming mode switching function.
