As modern become more intelligent day-by-day, people hope central air conditioner have more excellent capability, such as comfort and energy saving. This paper mostly research on how to use intelligent controller to control water circulation system of central air conditioner, so the air conditioner can supply comfort and use less energy as possible.In this paper, we analyze the mechanism of central air conditioner and its inertia and hysteresis; introduce fuzzy PID control which is suit for inertia and hysteresis process control. And present the design method for fuzzy PID controller. In this paper. We do frequency conversion design for cooling water system, and basing on this, we used fuzzy PID controller to control water pumps of the cooling water system. The paper did some simulations on the central air conditioner model with fuzzy PID controller, and then finished the hardware and software design for the control system. The control system took the S7-200 PLC as core and drive pumps by frequency conversion. This control can adjust its power and carry out constant temperature, as well as save a great deal energy.
