At present, there are many port wharf construction have been put into operation a few decades, a large part of these wharf construction have been damaged caused by many reasons, such as corrosion, aging, overload and fatigue etc. Some of structures were damaged seriously, and the health situations of the construction are worried. Therefore, it is a matter of great significance to investigate the health condition of port wharf structures and analysis the damage features and failure modes of wharf structure, as well as to develop a database system for managing the investigation data. Based on the the western task, the"Reserch on the technology of detection and assessment of harbour wharf structures"were studied.Combined with the existing "Technical Specification for Detection and Assessment of Harbour and Marine Structures", this article is mainly on the basis of investigate on the health condition of port wharf structures and the technical level of detection and assessment of harbour wharf structures in the western region and other parts of China, the available detection and assessment data about the structural safety was arrangedt and analyzed , according to the characteristics of different types of structure, the destruction features and failure mode was studied. According to the investigation data at the scene, a special studies about the erosion of chloride ions which is a major factor that caused durability deterioration, two-dimensional for chloride ions diffusion model was set up. Finally, based on the available detection and assessment data, develop a database of health condition of port wharf structures to provide a reliable basis for decision-making for whalf management and takingcorresponding measures.
