Along with the rapid development of Internet,users' requirement of streaming media increases from day to day.At present,the research on P2P live streaming is almost mature, but research on VoD system is at the initial stage.After introducing the related techniques about streaming media,this paper analyzes and compares several typical P2P streaming models,and gives a result that mesh-based DONet model based on gossip protocol has better reliability and efficiency than tree-based models.Based on the improvement of DONet model,this paper designs a P2P VoD system based on bundle layer,called BPPVoD,and gives a detailed design of peer management module,storage management module and scheduling management module in each peer.Peer management module puts concept of partner peers,generation peers and member peers,and uses peer management ring to organize and store partner peers and generation peers.Partner peers can provide video segments stored in buffer while generation peers can provide ones stored in harddisk storage.In addition,generation peers can support VCR better.Storage management module combines a fixed buffer,a dynamic buffer and harddisk storage.Fixed buffer can reduce the initial start delay,and the combination of dynamic buffer and harddisk storage can enlarge video segments storage in each peer and make video segments stored in P2P VoD system sufficient so as to ease the burden of the video server and enhance robustness of the whole system.Scheduling management module makes a certain improvment on data-driven scheduling strategy,that is,adds the bundle layer(including"space boundle"and"time boundle") to ensure the timely arrival of data.Afterwards,it defines the gossip interactive messages and analyzes the VCR operation in detail.When VCR operation happens,the peer ask video server for the initial several segments so as to reduce waiting delay greatly and improve playback continuity. Finally,this paper compares several P2P simulators and selects P2PStrmsim as the basic simulation platform.Based on it,the paper designs and implements the system simulation program,and gives a performance testing.
