The Design Of PTZ Module With Multi-protocol And The Application Of Video Synopsis

With the rapid development of economy and the rising of the living standards, people's demand of security guard product boosts up. Video surveillance has gone through three stages: analog video surveillance, analog/digital video surveillance and network digital video surveillance. Nowadays, network surveillance has been widely used in every occasion, becoming an important method for monitoring in economy, traffic, electric power, public security, customs, defense, and even residential communities. Video surveillance system has been developed quickly, and cameras for surveillance are sharply increased. PTZ device, which can rotate the camera and control the zoom, plays an important role in camera. There are a variety of cameras in the market and each camera has a unique protocol. However, ptz protocols, which support the network video surveillance, are limited nowadays. So a problem has arisen for equipment compatibility between the ptz device and network video surveillance system. In addition, A massive video database, generated by billions of the camera with 24 hours non stop working in every corner of the city, will cost people a lot of time to search and review.Base on the analysis of the principle of the camera, ptz control protocols and the researches on Video Synopsis, two things have been down in this thesis to solve these problems exist in the network video surveillance system nowadays. For one thing, a ptz module has been designed and implemented to provide supports for a wide range of ptz protocol and strong equipment compatibility. This module, composed by the program of ptz protocols and serial, was compiled to be a dynamic library file at last in linux platform. Dur to this dynamic library file, the API interface having nothing to do with the ptz protocols were provided to facilitate the application function call and the development or maintenance of programmers. For another thing, a method that brings Video Synopsis technology to network video surveillance has been designed to reduce the time people view history videos. Through this method, the original video could be compressed into a short time maintaining the validity and the reliability. Time was greatly saved.The ptz module introduced in this thesis could improve the compatibility between ptz device and video surveillance system. Through it, network video surveillance system could easily control the ptz devise and zoom. It has some good applied value. Besides, the new method designed in this thesis, which bought Video Synopsis technology to network video surveillance, also has some reference value in network video surveillance system.
