The technology of sensors is one of crucial components of the modern information technology. Sensors are the interface of the studied object and the information system, and also the window of the system to acquire and detect information. Magnetic sensors are an important branch that can be used to detect the non-electronically characteristics through the magnetic field. Magnetic rotary encode has simple frame, realizes micromation easily and is strongly adaptable in harsh environment. But its resolution and accuracy are low, which limit its improvement and application. The paper aims at improving the design of a two-pole magnetic encoder, designed for the measurement of the position of object and the angular velocity of object. Through the sensor, the information of the position and the angular velocity are output and display.In this paper's hardware design part, introduces the theory of the hall characteristics. Use hall circuit to design signal collection part. Use TI's fixed-point DSP TMS320VC5509A to process the signal. TMS320VC5509A has 2-Channel 10-Bit Successive Approximation A/D. Using it can be simple the processing of design, minish the circuit frame. The design also uses the ATMEL's EEPROM AT25256 to reserve the process, and use LED to display the outcome. In paper's software design introduces the digital filter technology, choose the FIR filter to process the signal and improve the quality. Use Matlab to design the type and modulus of the filter. Design the processing on characteristic of TMS320VC5509A's Dual-core multiplicater. Improve resolution and accuracy by using operation and interpolation theory. The design realizes 1024p/r absolute output, and its accuracy is 10 bits. The encoder can output signal to display or further processe.
