Research And Application Of SSL Protocol In Embedded Browser

With internet and the rapid development of embedded devices, embedded browser has been widely used. However most embedded browser only provides the most basic browsing function, not support the encryption of sensitive data. It is not possible to satisfy users to send and receive E-mail, shopping and trading. Now the most popular web security protocol is SSL, which can be deployed in the embedded browser.In this paper, we discussed how to deploy SSL protocol in embedded browser. As a subject of "a commercial embedded browser transplant to on-board equipment", this article begins with the introduction of the data encryption technology and SSL protocol, and then the SSL protocol is conducted in-depth analysis and research. On the basis of this, we specialized in the design of the SSL module for the embedded browser and achieved a secure transmission of data. In this paper, we applied some technologies for this browser, such as fast and safe encryption package and the reuse of conversation which can increase the speed of SSL handshake. We also designed a series of interface for upper UI module in the certificate management module. With these interface, we designed a graphical interface to enable users to load, delete, and view X.509 format of the certificate.This paper has theoretical knowledge and practical projects combined and provide a reference value in the allocation of safe and efficient transmission system for embedded browser.
