Design Of GUI Of IPTV Set-Top Box

IPTV set-top boxes use broadband network device to the domestic TV shows as the main terminal equipment, through IP protocol to provide a variety of digital media services, including television programs. IPTV can realize the substantive interaction between media providers and consumers.The purpose of my thesis is the design of GUI of IPTV set-top box. GUI is the short for graphics user interface. As the key equipment on the terminal of IPTV, set-top box, the quality of its GUI impacts users'acceptance, evaluation, and competitiveness of set-top boxes in the market.IPTV set-top-box products are developed on the NXP's STB810 development platform. According to Hebei Netcom's'Broadband Terminal Space Projects IPTV Technical Specification'requirements and users'actual need, we design, optimize and expand hardware & software functions. I was primarily responsible for the software part of the research and development, such as: port of embedded browser, design and implementation of menu, compilation of custom controls, design of the browser graphic system, and the choice & load of vector and dot matrix font.The major achievement of the thesis is: custom vector font display technology and real-time subtitles research and implementation; design and realization of set-top boxes both in Chinese and English menu; carrying out menu's response to the monitor operation, including: gradually switch, direct return to the main menu, visit back to the website; attain pictures & text blended display and design a simple screen control system (OSD).
