This paper mainly investigates signal design and signal process method in the underwater acoustic communication subsystem of the oil well system. On the emphasis of pattern time delay coding technology , so me signal design schemes are discussed including pattern time-delay coding , spread spectrum and rake receiver . All schemes above are demonstrated to be effective by analysis and simulation.First of all , in order to provide some basis for the following study task ,the thesis analyses technologies in signal design field about the underwater acoustic communication system , discusses main factors that influence the design of underwater acoustic communication system, summarizes configuration of the system. Secondly, pattern time-delay coding system is discussed in detail. The requests of the signal design of that system are put forward , the characters of the coded signal are analyzed .On the basis of communication models above, system simulations are achieved. Finally, the availability of pattern time-delay coding system is discussed by further simulation .The analysis emphasizes on parameters about pulse width, modulation slope, coding slot and the correlation result of the system in different communication range sand different SNR channels .The result shows that under the present hardware limitation, pattern time-delay coding system is an effective method to long-range underwater acoustic communication. Not considering implementation, pattern time-delay coding technology is able to be applied in underwater acoustic communication, and by using relative, a signal process method can enhance the performance of communication system some advices are given for future work.All the work paves well the way for the next research and realization of acoustic communication system based on oil well.
