3D shape reconstruction and measurement is a branch of computer vision. It is a research direction that integrates computer vision with computer image and graph processing. It has a wide application in the fields of automation process, machine vision, CAD, virtual reality, medicine and so on. It is an important but difficult problem that how we can obtain the 3D shape information of an object accurately and rapidly. This paper studies the current research work of 3D Scanners in market and research lab, compares the technologies they used and chooses an efficient 3D vision measure method based on coded-structured-light. The key technology of coded structured light is the coded pattern design. This paper studies all of the existing patterns used in coded-structured-light. After analyzing and comparing the advantages and disadvantages of existing coded pattern designing strategies, we use the Gray Code + Phase Shifting method, which needs 48 pattern pictures with high precision and easy implement.Camera and projector calibration is the key technology in the 3D scanner system. This paper presents a method to compute the intrinsic and external parameters of the camera and the projector. This paper also presents a method on how to analyze the captured coded pattern pictures and decode the coded patterns. The detailed steps of triangulation are also presented in the paper. And the 3D points cloud results of the object scanned are showed in the end.
