Smart Antenna is the key technology in TD-SCDMA with the reduction of interference, enhancing the system capacity and coverage.The algorithms and application in the TD-SCDMA of the smart antenna were studied in this thesis. A scheme called dual-polarized antenna was realized with the advantage of antenna miniaturization. The theoretical model and its adaptive algorithm were studied. It was proved by three types of simulation. It was shown by Matlab simulation that EBB and GOB were the best among all the adaptive algorithms. Both the algorithms were proved by the Link Simulation and system level Simulation. A dual-polarized antenna had an advantage 0.4~0.8dB than traditional 6 element antenna. The performance was similar with the traditional 8 element antenna. A dual-polarized antenna had a better coverage than traditional 6 element antenna, but it was worse than the traditional 8 element antenna..The scheme was applied in the real system. It was proved by test that the dual-polarized antenna was a good solution in smart antenna miniaturization.
