With the developing of internet, fast speedy of e-business, people need improve the technology for information managing in high level. Quick inflation of the amount of information has taken place and there has an increasing need for efficiently managing and exchanging data, so the mature relational database technology would be in face of many new problems and challenge. It puts forward an important problem that the database technique must face: how to efficiently store and manage data on the web and how a substantial amount of conventional relational data to be converted or published as XML data. This research is a deserving topic.XML has become the standard for publishing and exchanging data on the Web. However, the underlying data is often stored in the relational databases. In fact, because of strongpoint in relational database system, xml can not replace the relational database system yet. So it is a tendency that XML combined with relational database system. Some mechanism is needed to convert the relational data into XML data. By analyzing schema and correlation constraints defined in the target database schema and summing up the corresponding form in XML Schema, we propose concepts of relational semantic graph (RSG), elemental directed tree (EDT) and Schema tree (ST). We build a RSG from relational schema, and turn it to a set of EDT. Then we integrate the set of EDT into a ST and output it to a document of XML Schema. In this paper, we propose a set of rules for transforming a relational database schema into the corresponding XML schema and preserve structure and all integrity constraints and achieve high level of nesting in the transformed XML schema.
