Integrated Navigation System has the specialty of high precision, good reliability and small volume. It is one of the development directions of modern navigation system. High reliable supports are greatly in need among Integrated Navigation System. When the system has the abilities of redundancy and fault-tolerance technologies, it can run quickly, exactly, reliably and continually. How to acquire the abilities in the systems is the major problem to be solved.Taking integrated navigation display and control console as the background, this paper studies constitution and demand of integrated navigation systems. The scheme of reliable design and the method of fault tolerant are proposed considering the characteristic of integrated navigation. Using fault tree method, we can get the system failure rate and we can consult the analyzable result for fault tolerant designs. This paper advanced collectivity project and design about fault tolerant of integrated navigation system. Implement design of information redundancy mainly in network information assisted by serial communication, adopt 1553B bus network in navigation system and Ethernet when communication in all systems. And Ethernet adopts fault tolerant with double network and double redundancy. The dissertation depict the technology of double-CAN communication and double-computer backup which enhances dependability of system. In order to improve reliability of applied software of integrated navigation, the redundancy design has been considered. The N-version programming and recovery block method of redundancy in common use has been adopted. It is proved that the software reliability is improved by redundancy design through application.
