In recent years, with the rapid development of computer technology, computerperformance has been greatly improved and its application range in various fields hasgradually expanded. Computer as the most basic of information acquisition and processingterminal already deep into every aspect of people’s lives, the reliability of the computersystem has been more attention.The fundamental role of the navigation is to guide the carrier to securely reach thedestination within a certain time according to the established trajectory.A modern navigationtechnology, which has been widely used in aviation, aerospace, marine and other fields, is anintegrated technology which involves computers, microelectronics, control, optimal control,and many other areas. Ideal for fault-tolerant technology solution should have thecharacteristics of high reliability, high diagnostic rate, high cost, and also will be selection fordifferent reliability requirements of the system design with different design structures with theideal state.Currently, the integrated navigation technology relying on computer technologyhas attracted more and more attentions in the navigation field and it has become an importantdevelopment direction in navigation system. Consequently, the research on improving thereliability, robustness and ease maintenance of the navigation system has become animportant direction.Based on the background to a certain type of Integrated NavigationDisplay Control Console (INDCC), this paper researched on the fault-tolerant design schemewhich can improve the reliability of the navigation system.From the correlative background, the paper has introduced the basic theoreticalknowledge required for this subject. Firstly, the reliability theory of the system is describedand the index of reliability is analyzed. Secondly, aiming at several rudimental fault-toleranttechnologies, a detailed investigation and analysis has been done for the principle of eachfault-tolerant technology.According to the content of INDCC, a particular design analysis is made for integratednavigation system from the practical application in this paper. First of all, a reconfigurablefault-tolerant design scheme based on the principle of cluster technology is proposed from thereliability of navigation system platform.Meanwhile, an analysis of the reliability is made for the reconstructed model to provethat the reliability level of the system has further improved. Afterwards, aiming at the modulardesign of the navigation system, a variety of measures such as procedure volume back technology based on the checkpoint, Dual LAN redundancy switch technology, dual CANredundant technology and information fusion technology, is developed to improve the systemreliability combining with the methods that improve the reliability of the software from thesystem application layer.Finally, a detailed analysis is made for running processes of VxWorks operating systemin the system layer and system migration technology is proposed based on the runningprinciple of the system, meanwhile, a detailed design processing of this technology has beengiven. At last, the experiments proved that the proposed migrate technology can selectdifferent navigation system according to the requirement and the reliability of the system isimproved to some extent.This topic is committed to research the fault-tolerant for navigation systems. The purposeof these researches is to improve the level of reliability of the navigation system to ensure thesafety of ship navigation and meet the needs of modern war.The main topic for the navigation system’s fault-tolerant technology related contentin-depth research and design, and its purpose is to improve the reliability level of thenavigation system, ship navigation systems to improve overall reliability level, to ensure thesafety of the shipvoyage.
