Java smart card and Trusted Computing technology are currently two main research direction in the field of information security. On the one hand, Java smart card is getting more and more attractive, and widely applied for its multi-application. Unfortunately, corresponding safety issues are also brought, because of its multi-application. More and more attacks against Java card computing environment arise recently, and definitely hamper its further prevalence and applications. On the other hand, in order to enhance the security of the existing architecture of the PC terminal, the Trusted Computing Platform Alliance setting up in 1999 also launched their Trusted Computing technical specifications. The goal of their studies is to build a trusted computing environment in the existing untrusted PC by firstly setting up a root of trust, and a trusted measurement mechanism. However, for lack of credible operating system based on the Trusted Computing technology, the current Trusted Computing technology is also facing the difficult issues in practical use.In this paper, based on the analysis of these two technologies, a proposal and related design and implementation of the trusted computing based java card virtual machine are presented for enhancing the security of java card computing environments by introducing Trusted Computing technology into the Java card Virtual Machine.
