Image decomposition and image enhancement are the key technology of image processing. The algorithms of image processing based on wavelet transform are a hot topic.The main work of this paper has two issues:Firstly, the traditional algorithm of image decomposition based on wavelet transform is solved by partial differential equations, which leads to a great deal of calculations. This paper gives a promote algorithm based on the geometrical information characteristics and variation problems of wavelet transform. Solving the problem out by using Regularization Methods and minimizing variation functional theory, this can make the calculation faster by avoiding using the partial differential equations. We also prove out the superiority than the methods based on soft threshold filter and so on by the experiment.Secondly, the technique of wavelet transform can not reserve the detail of the image on the image enhancement, and when we enlarge the useful information, the noise will be increased anyway. Contourlet transform can suppress the noise efficiently; this can make up the shortage of multi-directional analysis of the wavelet transform. This paper gives the improved image enhancement algorithm which is based on wavelet transform and contourlet transform. The experiments results tell that the improved algorithm can enhance the image by suppress efficiently the noise.
