To realize precise automatic landing on ship around the clock of UAV, this paper proposes a new sort of technology which is based on a primary navigation system of UAV with GPS/SINS combined with the altimeter and a secondary navigation technology of computer vision/SINS combined with the altimeter and based on the cooperative object which can be automatic controlled to emission infrared; namely, we set a cooperative object on ship's runway, fist search the target under spiral search strategy, then use the computer vision to recognize the cooperative object, and ultimately UAV can precisely navigating and landing on ship automatically.First determine the8~1 2μmof infrared bands as the correspondence bands of visual system in theory through the analysis of the visible light and infrared radiation characteristics.then do a contrast experimental examination based on the image quality of visible light and infrared visual system.To quantitative evaluation the image quality,the paper proposes a quantitative index based on the image's edge gray change rate.The experiment of visible light and infrared cooperative object image quality in different visibility and different heating temperature show that the infrared image quality is better than the visible's.According to the defect of UAV can't be guidanced to the correct landing position, the paper proposes a seamless spiral search strategy and then do research on the related parameters,after that we studied the problem of image segmention and preliminary identification of target, aiming at the method of otsu can't achieve a good effect in segmention of infrared ship image, the paper proposes an improved segmention method, the experimental results show that the method have achieved a better effect, roundness is used to preliminary identify the target and have a good result. Finally, due to visible light camera have higher resolution than the infrared thermal imager and can detect the object of same size more easily, the paper proposed another search strategy.
