With the fast development of robot technology, robot research develops towards intelligentization gradually. However, an open, expandable, interface friendly and real time control platform is lacking in soccer robot research at present. The purpose of this paper is to design applicable robot hardware, design main software and application module of soccer robot system based on Windows CE system by customization to remove unwanted functions, and construct software and hardware platforms necessary for soccer robot control system.Firstly, the paper introduces the domestic and abroad develop situation of robot soccer, making a detailed statement on characteristics, classification and development of embedded system and describing the meaning of design of embedded soccer robot platform.Secondly, conduct system design in terms of each part of the platform including execution mechanism, control system, sensor system, communication system, human and machine interactive system and power supply system, and make a detailed introduction on hardware design of servo-driven board.Then, introduce the characteristics, models and system structure of embedded operation system-Windows CE used on the platform, and describe the general process of its system customization and its special configuration.Concerning software design of the platform, the paper describes the general structure of the software and makes a detailed research on construction of global data area, general decision-making process and self-location of robot.Lastly, the paper summarizes the design work of soccer robot platform, and bringing forward a vision of future work.
