With the computer and network technology developped rapidly, especially IT technology applied more and more popular in China, the E-Government applications are more commonly employed. E-Government (E-Gov) refers to a system project which applied modern IT and communication technologies to integrate government's administration and service functions via network technology. It offers high grade and all-sided, canonical and transparent administrations and services to our society, which also measure up to international standards. E-Gov leads the government's tasks to informatization, networking, standardization, and the open. It involves national classified information and core affairs, so the security is all-important.The information securities of computer network system include entity security, information security, operation security and staff security. As for the E-Gov networks, when structuring the network security infrastructure, there will be uncertainties to the analysis of risk control points, since the government operations and admin systems often change while attack methods change with each passing day. Poor network connectivity, jam, low connect speed and vulnerability happen repeatedly, these problems put E-Gov in a dangerous position, and may imperil the safety of data when running E-Gov. So it's indispensable to strengthen the network's security. The necessary of E-Gov information security is analysed in detail in this paper. Based on national E-Gov network in status quo, and referred to both domestic and overseas experiences of E-Gov security configuration, a certain government department as background, it studies recent trend of our E-Gov developments, and a corresponding security system in order to resolve above problems is layout, and a solution that meets the demands of E-Gov applications is drawn out.The main tasks are as follow:①Research the security characteristic in E-Gov, drill to the security risks, needs, and control policy of E-Gov.②Research the network security technology and its characteristicwhen applied in E-Gov, including router software and hardware, access control, list configuration, network privileges, VPN, firewall, intrusion detecting, intrusion defense etc.③In view of entity security, information security, operationsecurity and staff security, develop a network security model and a scenario for E-Gov network applications. ④Fulfill and validate the designed model and scenario in an E-Gov website of certain department.
