Research On Application Of Web Services In Teaching Management Of Digital Campus

With the rapid development of technology on Internet and multimedia, information resource shared broadly has been implemented, and opportunities and conditions are afforded to information-based construction in universities. All colleges and universities are stepping into construction phase of digital campus. Nowadays, web services play a very important role in universities construction. Its effect on the development of digital campus is deeply.This research topic comes to the author's mind with the development of college information construction. This paper firstly expounds the basic concept, recent development and existing problems of digital campus, and analyses domestic and international recent researching development of web services. Then this paper puts forward an integrated project of digital campus based on web services and discusses in detail the relevant technology in the process of campus information construction in order to optimize the college resources.This paper centers on web services. Firstly, it introduces the basic concept, the technique features, the systematic features, and the advantages of web services. And it introduces in detail the key techniques of web services such as XML, SOAP, WSDL, and UDDI. Then, by analysising recent development of Campus network in Yangtze normal university, this paper designs the total structure and whole integration project of digital campus. And on the basis of the whole design of digital campus, it discusses the developing ways and its publishing process of web services on the platform of Oracle. At last, this author will propose to found a private campus UDDI registration centre, providing a platform to publish and seek web services.This paper mainly focuses on the particular application of web services in the teaching management system of digital campus. In details, firstly, it analyses the function of the teaching management system and builds up the models. And this paper adopts Oracle10i application server as J2EE application server and SOAP server of the system.This paper develops the system based on J2EE. The application layer of the digital campus application system will be fulfilled by EJB, within which, the digital logic layer will be fulfilled by entity Bean, and the business logic layer will be mainly fulfilled by conversation Bean by packaging the major business logic in EJB. On the basis of web services, the practical application of the application layer will be published on SOAP server as web service. Thus this system will have the characters of high efficiency, safety, loose coupling, and highly integration. And the private digital campus UDDI registration center is constructed. Web service published on the SOAP server is registered in the UDDI registration center for the users'convenience. At last, taking the maintenance of the teaching management system as an example, this thesis designs and realizes one case of its subsystem, and studies the practical application of Web technique service in the whole system.This research partially accomplishes the application of digital campus construction. By adopting web services, the information island problem in digital campus construction can be solved, and the different application systems can conveniently exchange information. Furthermore, the relevant technology discussed in this paper will be useful in the following relevant researches.
