Research And Application On Judgement And Analysis Platform Of Dalian Police Based On Data Warehouse

Recent years, police have already established their own information systems respectively, but due to the lack of unified planning, these systems applied different platforms, technologies and databases, therefore, "Information islands" formed. These systems are unable to connect with each other, which results in poor flow of information and bad information-sharing, consequently we can not control the situation throughout the Dalian Police as a whole. Such situation has affected the efficiency of Police, as well as the use of historical information. Thereby a judgement and analysis platform is much needed to solve these problems.This article analyses the difficulties and challenges deeply that Dalian Polic faces at first. Then it puts forward the necessity to build the judgement and analysis based on data warehouse for Dalian Police. Secondly, on the basis of in-depth study of data warehouse and police judgement and analysis platform technology, it gives a detailed analysis and design for Dalian police judgement and analysis platform data warehouse model. Conbined with day-to-day police work, it gives the data warehouse model which is divided into five themes (people, cases, things, geography, institutions) on the actual demand by present departments. At the same time it analyses and designs the division of size, data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) in detail. Finally, it makes use of IBM data warehouse development tool DWE to model the data warehouse. The original data sources of police judgement and analysis platform data warehouse are ORACLE, DB2, SQL SERVER three types.In particular,it does a research on ORACLE data source and put fowards a DELTA extraction algorithm based on ORACLE snapshot log which resolves the problem extracting DELTA from extranet.It points out the algorithm's advantages and disadvantages by experiment.The platform eliminates the original "information islands". It gives a good solution to the integration and data sharing of distribution heterogeneous databases, and significantly improves the police efficiency. At the same time, the data warehouse layes the foundation for the police using existing information to support decision-making and data mining ,also gets preparations to provide information and services for other political and legal organs, government departments and society organs in technology and data.
