The image in forms, in the transmission and the recording process, as a result of many kinds of reason influence, the image quality can have fog the drop, the model performance for, the distortion, has the noise and so on. Causes the reason which the image degenerates to be very many, has the atmospheric rapids effect, the sensor characteristic non-linear, optical system between aberration, image formation equipment and object relative motion and so on.The genetic algorithm (Genetic algorithm) took one kind based on the Darwin biology theory of evolution global optimization search algorithm, may carry on the fast effective computation to the complex non-linear multi-dimensional data space. Because it is not searched specially spatial the restrictive supposition restraint, robustness and inherent parallel and so on, at present gradually demonstrates its superior performance in the imagery processing domain.This paper studies the digital image restoration techniques based on genetic algorithm(GA).First,an overall review is provided on the image restoration techniques and the method of GA,including its background,state-of-the-art,general system structure,basic principle,and its applications.By analyzing classical image restoration algorithm such as anti-filtering and wiener filtering,an improved genetic algorithm is presented for image restoration by incorporating new chromosome coding method,novel crossover mutation operation,and simulated annealing.Experimental results show that the new algorithm can achieve a high quality of the restored image with a low computational complexity.In addition,the novel genetic algorithm demonstrates good robustness in the optimal search of the whole.
