Gate is one of the key equipment which is used in automatic sale and check system(AFC system) of the city rail traffic. Gate recognises the passenger's behaviour with its internal intelligent recognition system, so the AFC can be implemented. Because the situation of passenger's pass is very complicated, the intelligent recognition system of gate is facing a big challenge on how to identify the passengers accurately and quickly. This paper lucubrates the problem and put forward a new human outline recognition technology which is suitable for gate in the city rail traffic. The main content is following:First, through the research of outline recognition technology and outline recognition algorithm, the paper gives particular introduction about technology characteristics of various ways of features distilling.Secondly, this paper uses infrared sensor instead of vidicon, makes some improvement on XYT model which is made up of image sequences based on moving object. That is, it distills discrete points from continuous curve which is generated from XYT model, applys Least-Squares Method to implement the fitting between discrete model and curve. According to the idea of XYT model, the paper put forward a new human outline recognition technology which is suitable for gate application in the city rail traffic.Finally, based on discrete XYT model and algorithm, the paper makes use of R&D independent gate simulation software GS to do a lot of simulation experiment against the situation that one two or three person in the gate path. Then It obtains the outline mode for every kind of pass situation. From that the paper defines all kinds of outline modes generated by the passengers when they pass the gate. Thought the analysis of the simulation result, the paper validates that the outline recognition technology used in gate is correct and feasible.
