The multi-phase flow is frequently appeared in industry such as power, chemical industry, nuclear power, refrigeration, petroleum, metallurgy and so on.The effective and accurate measurement takes a significant place in economy and reliability of operating devices. Along with the requirement on production process measurement, energy conservation and control, the measurement precision and scale of multi-phase flow rate plays an important role, and so does the measuring technologies. In this way, it is very valuable to get into the characteristics of multi -phase flow.The throttling gear is one of the primary elements used in the flow rate measurement by introducing difference pressure. For the advantages of high reliability and accuracy, simple structure as well as easy installation, the throttling gears that are already widely used in single phase flow measurement and now are in broad investigation for the applications in multi-phase flow rate measurement. In the middle of 1980s, a new kind of throttling set: V-Cone flow meter appeared. With a wider measurement scale, it can be more accurate and effective in flow rate measurement, for which, V-Cone becomes a popular research field for multi-phase flow measurement.In this dissertation, the author has accomplished the following works.1. Summarizing the development and status of multi-phase flow measurement. By comparing many methods which were studied by previous researches, the method which is a combination of single-flow measurement and throttling is got.2. Introducing the structure and principle of V-cone flow meter, and draws a conclusion that the V-cone flow meter has its specific advantages in multi-phase flow measurement due to its structure.3. In the study of measuring flow-rate of Gas-Liquid two-phase flow, compared many measurement models such as Lin zonghu model, Murdock model, Homogenous model and Chisholm model ,which were summarized by previous researchers. For being suitable for a specific condition, research referred on necessary modification, and the modified model has a low error level.4.In the study of measuring flow-rate of Oil-Liquid two-phase flow, take the homogeneous flow model as the breakthrough of the research. Expanding the flow condition to inhomogeneous flow level, and results of repetitive experiment are acceptable.5. In the study of measuring flow-rate of Oil-Gas-Liquid multi-phase flow, with the hypothesis that Oil phase and Water phase is one single phase, thus the model of Gas-Liquid flow can be used. And by comparing many models, found that Lin zonghu model is the best model. Analysed the reason of error.
