The flow condition of gas-liquid two-phase flow in pipelines is frequently appeared in industry such as power, chemical industry, nuclear power, refrigeration, petroleum, metallurgy and so on. Total flow rate and separated flow rate, is one of important parameters of gas-liquid two-phase flow. Its accurate measurement takes a significant place in economy and reliability of operating devices. Along with the requirement on production process measurement, energy conservation and control, the measurement precision and scale of two-phase flow rate is in an increasing demand, so does the measuring technologies. In this way, it is very valuable to get into the characteristic of two-phase flow. Before which, the flow rate must be measured precisely.The throttling gear is one of the primary elements used in the flow rate measurement by introducing difference pressure. For the advantages of high reliability and accuracy, simple structure as well as easy installation, the throttling gears that are already widely used in single phase flow measurement are now in broad investigation for the applications in two-phase flow rate measurement. In the middle of 1980s, appeared a new kind of V-Cone flow meter. With a wider measurement scale, it can be more accurate and effective in flow rate measurement, for which, V-Cone becomes a popular research field for gas-liquid two-phase flow measurement. In this dissertation, accomplished the following works were:1. The gas-liquid two-phase flow measurement especially the flow rate measurement was summarized based on the main parameters of gas-liquid two-phase flow. Basing on flow regime recognition, a method of measuring gas-liquid two-phase flow rate with V-Cone flow meter is presented.2. The model of measuring gas-liquid two-phase flow rate with V-Cone flow meter is presented based on the characteristics of V-Cone flow meter and the measuring models of gas-liquid two-phase flow rate with throttling gears.3. In view of the measuring principle of gas/water/oil three-phase flow experimental facility, a data acquisition system of differential pressures for gas-liquid two-phase flow facility is designed with V-Cone flow meter, the experiment schemes are presented in the end. 4. The discharge coefficient of V-Cone was calibrated and the influencing factors were discussed. The procedure of calibrating the modified coefficient of the V-Cone flow meter was determined. The experimental data of gas-liquid two-phase flow was analyzed. The measuring model was presented by comparing classical separated models. Based on the analyzing of flow patterns, the feasibility of measuring gas-liquid two-phase flow with V-Cone flow meter was validated.
