With many excellent characteristics just like good image quality, perfect color reproduction, abundant interface resource, USB mediaview, easy to blend with the information network, Digital HDTV is gradually becoming the real family multi-media recreational centre. As a result of video data being more and more, We need video compression to transport and store. With the market and business's competition, how to design a digital HDTV project to meet the users'need and win the market share is great importance to the TV manufacturer.The thesis introduces the concept of digital high definition TV. According to the manufacturer's requests, we design the project of high definition digital TV based on the video processing IC FLI10620. First, the thesis introduces video compression development and applications and the standard of video coding. Some parts of structure are emphasized such as video compression technology and MPEG-4 arithmetic. Second, the thesis discusses the system constitution and the item's structure. Some parts of structure are emphasized such as video digital signal processing module, tuner and periphery hardware circuit. Last, the thesis designs the whole system controlling software and the function code including RF processing, IR remote decoding.The production of the project can support all types of video signal and all formats of high definition video signal and standard definition video signal. It has good video quality, stable and reliable controlling software and a friendly user interface. It can meet all factory requests. This production has been putted into production, which has brought great economic and social benefit.
