Both personal communication techniques and market shares run in high speed development, which leads to demand of such kinds of data services, like multimedia message, on-line game, music download and mobile TV, etc. All of them are going beyond the ability provided by wireless network nowadays. Compared with WiFi and WiMAX, both network structure and access protocols of WCDMA/HSDPA are too complicated to successfully maintain aspects of wireless spectrum efficiency and reduce transmission delay as well. A long-term evolution launched by 3GPP for 3G communications is the latest updated version. In this background, increasing the peak data rates, improving the quality of service and enhancing the spectral efficiency for downlink packet traffic as a hot direction have become an indispensable part of wireless communication systems.LTE downlink is focus in this paper. Some researches on system resource allocation with QoS satisfaction are deployed by introducing"channel-aware and queue-aware"scheduling algorithm. LTE PF scheduling algorithm adopts advanced techniques, including MIMO-OFDM structure, AMC and HARQ, to improve system throughput. A system-level simulation platform for LTE is developed in this paper. All modules are designed according to corresponding standards of 3GPP. The platform is easy to use and expand.System-level simulation is adopted in this thesis, and a great number of experimental results are generated from the thesis. Experimental results are analyzed in statistical method to validate the accuracy of theoretic analysis, the efficiency and availability of the proposed algorithms. It is regarded as one of the important solutions of resource allocation in future IP-based packet switching network.
