This paper study the basic theory of the Er/Yb co-doped double-clad fiberamplifier, the use of simulation software analysis of Er / Yb co-doped fiber amplifieramplification characteristics of the basic theory and simulation based on the design ofthe output signal power reaches 4W high-power high-gain Er/Yb co-doped double-cladfiber amplifier.This paper focus on the double-clad structure and coupled cladding pumped, Er /Yb co-doped characteristics. The simulation study focused on an analysis of fiber length,pump power, signal power and other factors on the amplifier performance. based on thestudy on theory and simulation, this paper design an Er/Yb co-doped double-clad fiberamplifier with the actual output power 4W, pump power 12W, which is a fiber amplifierhigh-power high-gain.
