Ultra-Wideband (UWB) communication has great potentials in short-distance wireless communication. The compatibility of UWB communication system with other wireless communication systems is the precondition for UWB communication to find more application. Three interference mitigation technologies are investigated and simulated based on the analysis of mutual interference between UWB and traditional narrowband system. A multiple channel-cognitive UWB scheme is proposed. The main contributions of the thesis are as follows:1. Mutual interference between UWB system and traditional narrowband communication system are investigated and simulated. The simulation results show that the performance of UWB system is more serious when traditional narrowband system has a larger bandwidth and higher sending power. At the same time, UWB have small impact on traditional narrowband system.2. Three UWB systems are proposed to realize the coexistence based on the investigating and simulating of three representational interference mitigation technologies. The results show that: the SSA algorithm has the best performance, but it can be used only when the parameters such as the location and bandwidth of NBI (narrowband interference) are known; the SVD algorithm has a better performance than the notch filter, but it doesn't fit all conditions; the notch filter is easy to realize, but the UWB signal is damaged by the notch band.3. A multiple channel-cognitive UWB scheme is proposed. The system can design sending pulses adaptively to fit the changing mask. Multi channel can not only divide the whole interference into small parts, but also make the demand of time resolution lower. TR can avoid channel estimation. Analytical and simulation results show that this scheme can realize the coexistence effectively, and it has many advantages than common UWB system.
