Antenna selection and power allocation are two key techniques in MIMO systems. Antenna selection technique can reduce cost of system hardwire and improve system performance. Power allocation technique can allocate power according to the channel state information and improve system performance. In this thesis, based on the analysis of V-BLAST system, together with deep research on combining antenna selection, power allocation and adaptive modulation, our emphasis lie in the following aspects.Firstly, aimed at minimizing the probability of vector error for each channel realization, based on a two-transmit antennas optimum-power allocation V-BLAST system, a general model of V-BLAST system with antenna selection technique is presented. Simulation results show that the probability of vector error in this scheme is lower than that of the original one, which means some improvement in error performance.Secondly, channel correlation can severely reduce MIMO system capacity. A simple transmit antenna selection algorithm based on eigen-values of antenna correlation matrices is presented, which can reduce the computational complexity in flat fading channel.Thirdly, aimed at maximum utilization of wireless channels resources, wireless link adaptation technology can adaptively change parameters of transmitter and receiver according to the wireless channel. A bits and power allocation algorithm based on antenna selection and wireless link adaptation technology is proposed. This algorithm can maximize the data transmission rate under the condition of confined BER.
