In order to meet the growing demand for high-speed data transmission, in existing andemerging wireless communication network, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) has graduallybecome one of the main technologies. In this paper, several important issues on MIMO system arediscussed in both theory and practice field, and these technologies can used to improve the capacityof MIMO system.Antenna selection provides a new form of a transmission in a MIMO system, and it uses arelatively small cost to get a low-loss and a high-gain. In the first part of this paper, the possibilityof diversity order in the MIMO spatial multiplexing system with actual coding and decodingprocess is analyzed firstly. Secondly the fast algorithm with a good tradeoff between performanceand complexity is designed, especially in the correlated fading channels. Finally an antennaselection algorithm is used in a commercial high-enter wireless LAN. Power Allocation can transferas much as possible data information in a MIMO system with a given total transmit power. Thesecond part of this paper discusses the principle and the realization of the power allocationalgorithm in detail. Two power allocation algorithm are discussed, and they are the average powerallocation algorithm and the water-filling algorithm. Average power allocation algorithm isapplicable to the case that the transmitting side doesn’t know the channel state information(CSI),while the water-filling algorithm is applicable to the case that the transmission side knows thechannel state information (CSI). The MIMO system allows to play a more excellent performance inthe limited transmission power with using of power allocation algorithm.Above the antenna selection algorithms and power allocation algorithm, the channel capacityof MIMO systems have a lot of benefits. In this paper, the actual application environment, designappropriate algorithms and simulation. Can be analyzed by the simulation results, in the existingconditions, increasing the smaller cost, these algorithms can make the system capacity has beengreatly improved.
