Image aided testing has developed rapidly since great advances in electron technique, image processing and computer technology, and is widely used in space technology, remote sensing technique, medical diagnosis and manufacturing production as well as many national economy areas. The treatise deals with the image aided testing system which applies the image aided testing technology to glass wares on-line detecting system, where a test of perpendicularity deviation for a glass bottle is made by an image processing method. The investigation mentioned above will give an enormous impetus to the on-ling measurement of industrial products such as glass wares etc.Firstly, this treatise introduces the development situation of the image aided testing system and its composition, pointing out image data correct acquisition, image processing and data transmission bauds as a key to realization of the system, analyzing the status quo of high speed digital signal processor and PCI bus. In the design, DSP chip produced by TI Corporation was selected to finish the digital image processing in real-time, utilizing PCI bus interface for the solution of a problem of high-speed data transfer.Secondly, the design and debugging of system hardware circuit have been accomplished, and the overall design scheme has been made, where a video A/D SAA7111A was used to finish the design of video signal capture module, utilizing a chip TMS320VC5509A DSP to complete the design of hardware circuit of digital image processing module, selecting PCI bus specific interface chip PCI9054 to achieve the development of PCI bus interface circuit, designing a ping-pong memory with two large capacity storage units to have solved numerous problems of video data buffer, creating a hardware platform for system video data collection and image processing in real-time as well as high-speed data transfer.Finally, a software design of every module has been made in connection with some functions of the hardware circuits, including VHDL logical design in FPGA and software design in DSP. Windows XP DDK at Visual C++6.0 background was applied to finish the development of PCI driver, realizing device creation, start, stop and deletion as well as data read-write operation. A test application program has also been written at Visual C++6.0 background and system video data collection and transmission function were inspected and verified to have realized high-speed data transfer.The test result proves that the hardware circuit of image aided testing system discussed in the treatise has a working stability and the developed device driver an operational reliability, and image processing capacity and data transmission bauds have all reached the design requirements.
